The P44 is a Lockheed Martin-funded program to develop an all-weather, long-range strike capability. The missile is designed to be fired from MLRS and HIMARS launchers.
The P44 is capable of being quickly launched against moving ground targets with minimal range limitations. The weapon is intended to fill a perceived gap in effectively engaging and neutralizing long-range artillery, particularly mobile rocket launchers.
