When in service, the Type 64 anti-tank missile could be fired by infantry either singly or from multiple-round emplacements. The weapon was carried by jeeps and helicopters.
The missile had a thick cylindrical steel body with a blunt nose leading to a conical point. There were large, square cruciform wings at the rear, each with a full-span trailing-edge spoiler.
