Strix is a smart, top-attack, anti-tank munition for 120-mm mortars. Although it is heavier than a standard mortar round, it can be fired from a standard mortar tube without special preparation.
It differs from the British 81-mm Merlin smart round in having a passive infrared (IR) seeker instead of an active millimeter-wave radar.
The missile is a blunt cylinder with radial steering jets two-thirds of the way back on the body and four curved stabilizing tail fins.
