The TRIGAT (trilateral guided anti-tank weapon) began as a tri-national (France, Germany and the United Kingdom) anti-tank missile program. Belgium and the Netherlands became associate members of the group in 1989. It was intended as a replacement for the Milan, HOT , BGM-71 TOW and Swingfire anti-t ank missiles.
