The HOT (haut subsonique optiquement teleguide tire d'un tube-- high-subsonic optical-guided) air-to-ground anti-tank missile was developed by the Euromissile consortium, which included Aerospatiale and Messerschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm (MBB) (subsequently taken over by Deutsche Aerospace). The manufacturer is now MBDA.
Development began in 1964 and production started in 1977. The missile has been mounted on several types of helicopters and armored vehicles and has been widely exported....
