The Israeli GM 72 MAPATS anti-tank guided missile resembles the U.S. BGM-71 TOW, but uses a different guidance system. In both missiles, the guidance principle -- semi-automatic command-to-line-of-sight, or SACLOS -- is the same: The operator keeps his sight on the target while the missile calculates and corrects divergences from the sight line.
