The ABM-1 Galosh was the oldest of the Russian anti-ballistic interceptor missiles (ABM ) in service. It was originally deployed at four sites to the north and west of Moscow, but has since been replaced by the ABM-4 Gorgon (see separate record).
The missile was a short, pointed cylinder atop cluster of four boosters, with four fins at the rear of the boosters.
