The Starstreak is a high-velocity missile (HVM) system designed as a very short-range air-defense weapon for the British army to defeat armored helicopters and low-flying aircraft.
The system has three configurations: self-propelled on the Stormer armored vehicle (SP HVM); a lightweight multiple launcher (LML); and shoulder-launched (SL). The Starstreak can also be used as an air-to-air missile by the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. This configuration is known as the Helstreak.
