The SA-17 Grizzly (Russian Buk-M1-2) is a surface-to-air system designed to replace the SA-11 Gadfly. The SA-17 missile is designated the 9M317 and is an improvement over the original 9M38M1 used for the Buk-M1. The entire system includes a command post, target acquisition radar, six launchers, launcher-loader vehicles and the missiles themselves. Older Buk -M1s can be upgraded to the SA-17 standard.
