The Advanced Extended-Range Attack Missile (AERAM), since discontinued was a development program aimed at demonstrating the capability to engage cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other subsonic airborne threats at extended ranges. The missile was to be launched from air and ground platforms using AIM-120 AMRAAM launch rails.
The system was intended to be able to attack airborne targets at ranges of more than 60 mi (100 km) and weapons of mass destruction (WMD)...
