The Nerva is a throwable robot developed by Nexter to meet French army requirements. The robot is intended to support infantry, particularly for counter-improvised explosive device (IED) and route-clearance missions.
The army's requirements include the ability to be thrown from the Aravis armored vehicle and full controllability from within the vehicle. This would allow the robot to be deployed without exposing personnel.
