The MDARS-E (mobile detection, assessment and response system-exterior) is one of the most advanced robotic unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) with demonstrated military use. A joint Army-Navy effort, MDARS-E is designed to detect intrusion attempts at high-value military facilities. It is a development of a similar program, the MDARS interior system.
