Altay main battle tank

The Altay is a main battle tank under development for the Turkish army. The tank, based on the South Korean K2, is intended as an indigenous vehicle developed using local capabilities. The Turkish program could ultimately involve the production of up to 1,000 vehicles.

The tank has an all-welded steel hull, which can accommodate modular composite armor and explosive reactive armor.
