The Armored Heavy Support Vehicle System (AHSVS) is a modular logistics truck based on the DaimlerChrysler Actros 4100 series. The vehicles are fitted with a Land Mobility Technologies (LMT) armored cab. The AHSVS requirement was developed in response to conditions in Afghanistan. The new vehicles replaced Heavy Logistic Vehicle Wheeled (HLVW) vehicles serving with Canadian forces in Afghanistan.
The Actros 4100 has a four-axle 8 x 8 all-wheel drive chassis.
