The EE-3 Jararaca, which is named after a South American poisonous snake, is a 4 x 4 armored reconnaissance vehicle that was designed in Brazil specifically for the export market as a simple, light, armored scout car.
The hull of the EE-3 consists of rolled steel plates with a sloped glacis plate and vertical rear. The driver is in the center forward part of the hull in a raised position that has three vision blocks. The driver's hatch is lifted open and swung to the right.
