The Scout is a small 4 x 4 armored reconnaissance vehicle (ARV) developed as a private venture by Cadillac Gage. First shown in 1977, the first customer for the vehicle was Indonesia in 1983. It is designed primarily for reconnaissance and security.

The Scout has a low silhouette. Viewed from the front, the hull's cross-section is diamond-shaped with both upper and lower hull halves sloping inward. Compared to other ARVs, the engine, driver and turret are set farther to the rear...
