The BRDM-2 is a 4 x 4 Russian-built armored amphibious scout car that is the successor to the BRDM-1.
Similar to the BRDM-1 in this respect, the BRDM-2 has a boat-like front and two auxiliary center axles. A more powerful GAZ-41 engine is mounted in the BRDM-2, located at the rear of the hull. The all-welded steel armor hull provides protection against small-arms fire and shell splinters.
