The SIBMAS is an amphibious armored fire support vehicle with an armored recovery vehicle variant.
The SIBMAS' all-welded steel hull has a blunt nose and short glacis, and protects against against 7.62-mm and 5.56-mm armor-piercing rounds. The driver's station is a squared-off cupola in the center with an overhead hatch; the roofline of the cupola is even with the top of the rest of the hull.
