Puma (4 x 4) armored personnel carrier

The Puma 4 x 4 wheeled, light armored vehicle is designed as a light multi-purpose weapons carrier.

The 4 x 4 version of this vehicle has been issued to light infantry units (airborne and mountain) of the Italian army. The larger 6 x 6 version was set to be the standard vehicle for infantry component of Italian light armored brigades (mechanized cavalry). It is designed to complement the brigade' s primary fighting vehicle, the Centauro.
