The Guarani, also known as the VBTP-MR (Viatura Blindada de Transporte de Pessoal-Medio de Rodas, or armored personnel carrier-medium), is a 6 x 6 wheeled armored vehicle developed by Italian firm Iveco Defense for the Brazilian army. The vehicle was intended to replace more than 600 indigenous 6 x 6 armored vehicles, including the EE-9 Cascavel reconnaissance vehicle and EE-11 Urutu APC.
