The Vertical Launch (VL) MICA is a short-range ground-based air defense system that builds on the existing short-range air-to-air MICA missile. The VL MICA has a multi-target capability combined with its fire-and-forget guidance mode.
Missiles can be fitted with an active radio frequency (RF) or passive imaging infrared (IIR) seeker and fired from the same launcher, improving its countermeasure capability.
