BlueWatcher is a hull-mounted, low/medium-frequency sonar developed by the Thales Group. The sonar is designed for viability on lower tonnage ships upwards of 66 ft (20 m) in length.
Based on similar technology to the Folding Light Acoustic System for Helicopters (FLASH) dipping sonar, the company bills BlueWatcher as the smallest compact, low-cost, high added-value anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capability for smaller platforms.
