The opto-electronic pointing stations (OEPS) were developed in Russia by the Urals Optical and Mechanical Plant (UOMZ) as part of the integrated weapon system for MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters.
The electro-optical sights provide search, detection, tracking and ranging against airborne and ground targets. There are different designations based on the aircraft with which the system is integrated, although the equipment is essentially the same.
