Developed during World War II, the 85-mm KS-12 anti-aircraft gun may still be held in reserve by Russia. The KS-12 is also identified as the M1939.
The gun fires high-explosive fragmentation (HE-FRAG), armor-piercing with tracer (AP-T) and high-velocity AP with tracer (HVAP-T) projectiles.
Initial operational capability (IOC) was reached in 1939. The gun is no longer in production.
