The SPG-9 Kopye ("Spear") is a 73-mm tripod-mounted, recoilless anti-tank gun that replaced the 82-mm B-10 and 107-mm B-11 guns after 1969. (The name is also spelled "Kopyo.")
The gun is man-portable and can be transported on a two-wheel carriage or mounted in pairs in an armored personnel carrier (APC).
The SPG-9 fires a rocket-assisted high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) projectile.
In service.
Initial operational capability (IOC) was attained in mid-1960s.
