The British 25-pounder (87.6-mm bore) towed field gun is a general-purpose artillery piece that entered British service at the beginning of World War II and was produced in large numbers.
It was widely distributed throughout the British Empire and Commonwealth during and after the war. It remains in service with just a few nations.
The gun was produced in several variants. Those still in use are Mark 3s, which are fitted with a Solothurn double-baffle muzzle brake.
