This was at one time the largest-caliber towed gun in use by Russia. The gun fired high-explosive fragmentation (HE-FRAG) and concrete-piercing (CP) projectiles. It was also capable of firing nuclear ammunition.
No longer in service.
Initial operational capability (IOC) was attained in early 1950s. The piece was first seen by Western observers in May 1955.
