The A-19 122-mm corps-support gun entered service in the late 1930s as a development of the earlier M1931. The A-19 differed from the earlier gun primarily in its use of a new carriage, which is also used for the 152-mm ML-20 gun-howitzer (see separate database entry). The gun is no longer in Russian service, but it remains in use with other nations.
