The M-392 is a lightweight assault gun intended for infantry and rapid-reaction units. It is designed to be towed by light 4 x 4 vehicles, such as the GAZ-66 or UAZ-469, or slung under helicopters such as the Mi-24.
The gun system is based on a standard split trail carriage, with each trail provided with a spade. A two-part shield is fitted for the crew. Elevation, traverse and sights are mounted on the left side of the carriage.
