The Ultra Lightweight Self-Propelled Wheeled Howitzer (ULWSPWH) was developed by Consorzio Iveco Oto (CIO) and the Italian Ministry of Defense for the Italian army. The 155-mm wheeled howitzer was designed to provide organic fire support for Italy's fleet of Centauro and Freccia 8 x 8 wheeled armored vehicles (see separate records). According to some sources, it may have also been called the Porcupine. It appears to have been a prototype that was not produced.
