The PLZ-05 (Type 05) is a Chinese 155-mm/52-caliber tracked self-propelled howitzer. The howitzer has the NORINCO export designation PLZ52.

The vehicle has a crew of four. The driver is seated at the front of the hull to the left of the powerpack. 

The PLZ-05 has a gross vehicle weight of 94,800 lb (43,000 kg), a significant increase compared to the previous PLZ-45, which weighed 72,50 lb (33,000 kg).
