The PLZ-07 is a 122-mm tracked self-propelled artillery system. The vehicle is armed with the 122-mm PL-96 howitzer, which is based on the Russian D-30. The PLZ-07 was designed to replace aging 122-mm systems in China's inventory, including the Type 89, Type 85 and Type 70/70-1 systems. The chassis was reportedly developed from the ZBD-97 infantry fighting vehicle. It has not been offered on the export market.
