The 2S9 Nona (Russian: SO-120) is an air-transportable, amphibious self-propelled gun mounted on the BMD-2 armored vehicle chassis. The airborne artillery assault vehicle was designed to replace existing mortars and howitzers in Russian air assault divisions and provide a secondary direct-fire anti-tank role with high-explosive anti-tank ammunition. It has since been identified in service with regular ground forces and naval infantry units.
