The GAM-B01 20-mm shipboard light gun uses the KAA 20-mm cannon and can be operated in both anti-aircraft and surface-defense roles.
The belt-fed KAA is a positively locked, gas-operated weapon that is fired mechanically and must be cocked before the first round is fired. The KAA can fire singly or automatically. It stops firing with an open breech to prevent cook-offs (unwanted firing caused by heat).
