The Swedish M29 81-mm mortar is a license-built French Stokes/Brandt Model 1917 mortar.
The mortar resembles most other pre-World War II weapons, having a rectangular base with carrying handle and a bipod that is connected by chains. One modification made to the French design is the fitting of Swedish sights.
