The 125-mm 2A82-1M is a smoothbore cannon developed for Russia's new T-14 Armata main battle tank. It is fitted in an unmanned turret. The 2A82-1M is reportedly a lengthened improvement of the original 2A82, which never entered service.
The weapon is said to be more accurate than previous Russian tank guns due to a lower dispersion. It also has a greater muzzle velocity than the Rheinmetall 120-mm cannon on the Leopard 2A6 , according to Russian media.
