37-mm N-37

The Nudelman N-37 is a single-barrel 37-mm cannon fitted to the MiG-17 Fresco fighter aircraft. It also armed MiG-9, MiG-15, early MiG-19 and Yak-25 jets.

The weapon replaced the similar NS-37 (for Nudelman-Suranov). It had a reduced weight and dimensions compared to its predecessor; the firing rate was improved. The 23 percent drop in muzzle velocity was compensated by 60 percent increase in fire rate. Weight fell by 30 percent.
