Based on the venerable Aden 30-mm cannon, this was an advanced aircraft cannon. The Aden 25 was a gas-operated, belt-fed (with disintegrating links), five-cylinder revolver cannon. The principal difference between the two guns was their respective calibers, a change dictated by more powerful ammunition available in the 25-mm size and the method of firing.
