The Safir was a basic flight trainer and liaison aircraft produced in both military and civil versions.
The Safir featured a dihedral, double-tapered wing set low at mid-fuselage, a nose-mounted piston engine, side-by-side seats for flight crew and an option of one or two passenger seats behind them, retractable tricycle landing gear with the main wheels folding inward into the fuselage, and an almost straight tailfin and rudder set directly above the tailplane.
