The DHC-2 Beaver was a light short take-off and landing (STOL) utility aircraft in widespread civil use. Some have floats to operate as fresh-water seaplanes.
The high wing was set well forward on the fuselage and was braced by single struts extending from the wing to main landing gear attachment points on the fuselage. The rectangular, constant-chord wing had a relatively high aspect ratio, curved tips and trailing edge flaps inboard of mass-balanced ailerons.
