The T-54A is the aircraft component of the U.S. Navy's Multi-Engine Training System (METS) program. It is a modified version of the Textron King Air 260. The T-54 is slated to replace the aging T-44C Pegasus fleet as the Navy's primary multi-engine trainer aircraft. It is expected to serve for around 30 years.
