The M-346 is an advanced jet trainer (AJT) developed by Aermacchi SpA (Italy). The M-346 provides combat pilot training for frontline fighters with high angle-of-attack capability, with avionics modeled on new-generation aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, Gripen, Rafale, F-16, F-22 and F-35. The aerodynamic design of the M-346 uses vortex lift to provide maneuverability and controllability at high angles of attack using a quadruple redundant fly-by-wire control system.
