The HTT-40 is a basic trainer under development for the Indian air force. It is intended as a replacement for the retired HPT-32 Deepak.
The aircraft is designed for basic flying training; aerobatics; instrument flying; navigation; night flying; and close formation roles, according to the manufacturer. The HTT-40 could also be adapted for light attack roles.
