The Chipmunk is a venerable Canadian-designed trainer aircraft that is also used in a liaison role. It was produced in Canada and the U.K. for both military and civil use.
The Chipmunk's design is of immediate post-World War II vintage with all-metal wings and fuselage and fabric-covered control surfaces. The low wing is double-tapered, has a visible dihedral angle from the root, curved tips and plain trailing edge flaps inboard of long-span ailerons.
