The Cirrus SR22 is a U.S.-built general aviation aircraft that is also used for flight training by the French and Saudi air forces. The SR22 was launched in 2000 and is an improved version of the Cirrus SR20 (see separate record for more information). The aircraft is a single-engine, piston-powered, high-performance aircraft with a composite airframe.
TheSR22 is powered by a Continental IO-550-N engine, developing 310 hp, which drives a nose-mounted three-blade propeller.
