The Zephyr uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV), built by the British defense research firm QinetiQ, is a high-altitude long-endurance (HALE) solar-powered remote sensing and communications platform.
The system can operate above clouds and high winds to help enable a wide range of communications. The platform is meant for continuous operation with its solar energy and a low-drag aerodynamic design.
