The Guizhou WZ-2000 was revealed at the 2000 Zhuhai air show in China to be a squat twin-jet powered, delta-winged, high-altitude long-endurance (HALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The design evolved into a medium-sized air vehicle by the 2002 Zhuhai show.
At the 2008 Zhuhai exhibition, the airframe appeared to form the basis for an armed turbofan powered unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) similar in size to the U.S. General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper.
