When active, the Scorpion model 100-50 featured Freewing Robotics' tilt-body design, which altered the thrust of the UAV's Rotax 52-hp engine.
Unlike Bell Helicopter's Eagle Eye vertical takeoff and landing UAV, in which the prop rotors tilt while the body maintains a level orientation, the Scorpion's pod fuselage (where the Rotax engine is located) tilted, while the wings maintained a level orientation.
