The Gnat 750 Tier 1 unmanned aerial vehicle was an outgrowth of the US$40 million Amber technology program originally funded by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA, now DARPA).
The air vehicle was similar to the Amber, although it was larger and the wing was mounted low on the fuselage. It is powered by the same Rotax 582 piston engine.
The Gnat 750 has a range of 500 miles (800 km), a ceiling of 25,000 ft (7,620 m) and can transmit live television images day or night....
