The CH-5 is a medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle developed by China. It resembles the U.S. MQ-9 Reaper and is said to have similar capabilities. The air vehicle is designed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance, electronic warfare, border patrol, counterterrorism and strike missions.
Chinese experts say the CH-5's resemblance to the MQ-9 is because it is the best aerodynamic layout for the mission set.
